Invernahavon Caravan Site
A lovely spacious site well laid out. Clean showers and toilet with plenty of hot water. Lovely views and only about three miles from Newtonmore - cycle track available for the walk or cycle. as others have said do not miss the Highland Heritage museum. First class and free - a tremendous resource. We went three times - so much to see and do. Clan MacPherson museum also interesting - donations welcome but free too. Couple of nice hotels for food/drink. Local co-op selling most foodstuffs and papers and Spa is garage as you enter Newtonmore. We had our three year old grandson with us and he had plenty of freedom at this site.

Visited for a second time. (May bank holiday weekend) Love the fact you can pitch your tent anywhere within the designated area. Lots for the children to do with the woods and river nearby. A lovely quiet site with great views. Will definately be back.

this was our 4th visit to this site and again we loved it, the pitches are double some sites we have stayed on, the open space, woodland and water is excellent for kids and dog walking. very friendly, close to the village (about 1 mile) when you go visit the highland folk musium excellent and free in 2007. good historic scotland site also just outside newtonmore and well worth a visit. all in all an excellent site.

Return visit for us to this site this summer and despite the weather was just as good as our first trip. Surrounding views difficult to beat and kids just love the open spaces of the paly area and the den making potential in the wooded areas! Site was much busier this time but still plenty of space that you are not pitching on top of your neighbours and toilets/dishwashing/laundry facilities all still v clean. Highly recommend.

Just returned from two night stay and had a ball. Large spacious grassy area for pitching tents which we were lucky enough to have to ourselves, large play area with trim trail and lots of wooded areas for kids to go exploring in. Toilets, dishwashing area and laundry spotless, staff very friendly and helpful will definetly be back. Had been slightly concerned about noise from A9 but was not a problem.

Spent 2 fantastic nights at Invernahavon in June. We had two big tents and had the camping area to ourselves, the surrounding woodlands, riverbanks and the trim trail kept the kids happy for hours. Despite being close to the A9 the site is really peaceful. On site there is a small shop-stocks mainly tins/jars. There is a coffee shop approximately 1 mile away-you can walk along the old A9. We will definately be back!

stayed for a two night break and loved the pitch size, you have loads of room to 'spread-out'. the facilites on site are not the usual 5 star caravan club however are still good and very clean. excellent facilities for the kids in newtonmore the folk museum is realy good do not be put off by the name! staff were friendly when we arrived etc, good site and we are planning to return.

this site is really nice and open with good pitches for tents. It always seems to be much quieter than eg loch morlich at Aviemore, although I have found the site full at the begining of August. Toilet block spotless and very good hot showers, even the hairdryer is free. Never seems to be too bad for midges. For nightlife, it is possible to cycle down the old A9 road into Newtonmore about a mile away. Don't expect much chat from the owners. Payment for your pitch seems to be conducted with the bare minimum of conversation.

Handy site
Area set aside for tents, very good. Facilities very clean and warm. We stayed September weekend and were the only tent on site therefore it was very peaceful.Shop on site but not very well stocked (end of season) Nearest shop is 3mls in Newtonmore. The only downside to site is it's closeness to A9. Traffic noise. A very conveniant site for stopover when travelling further north
