Scourie Caravan and Camping Park
Just spent Jubilee weekend at this beautifully placed site. Weather was brilliant and the view out over the inlet is to die for. The atmosphere is calm, chilled and the place to relax and get away from it all.

We loved camping on this site. Because it's cleverly terraced, our well-sheltered pitch overlooking Scourie Bay wasn't overlooked by anyone else. The management were very on the ball, and had a nice way of enforcing the site rules, both verbally and in the signage. We thought it represented outstanding value for money at £14 a night. When we had to leave a night early, a refund was offered immediately.

i have holidayed at scourie caravan park for around 35 years now, and know angus, the owner, and his family very well, since my parents first took us there as children. i love the place, and will always return, and my family still do too, it has everything you could want from an outdoor holiday. the site is excellent and very well maintained, the location is perfect, the area (sutherland) is truly stunning and never ceases to take my breath away, when the weather is good it is an amazing place, rivalling anywhere in the world, when the weather is bad it doesnt matter, it still has a unique charm, clean air, crystal clear turquoise sea, white coral sand beaches, empty roads, eagles, dolphins, whales, killer whales, seen them all there, and if you have a boat, you probably will too, and the fishing is fantastic, although not as good now as it used to be, but still worth it, and the views from the sea are even better than from the land. paradise? almost, if it wasnt for the midges and the ever changing weather, it would be.

This must be one of the most scenic sites in the Highlands. Every pitch that we have been on gives good views over the bay towards Handa Island. Facilities are plentiful, well maintained and very clean. The owner runs a "tight ship" so for those of us who like things to be well organised and well looked after it is a great place to stay. Ideal for wildlife, fishing, boating and sea-kayaking

Cannot wait to go back to Scourie. We had glorious weather, showed the site at it's best I know but I am counting the days to going back in 2009. Everything was clean and the Pub on site was great value for money and the food was excellent.

We stayed here for one night whilst on our 'Grand Tour' of Scotland. The loos and showers were clean and lots of them.... I seem to be a bit obsessed with the loos at campsites, but as we don't have on-board facilities, the conditions of the loos can really make or break a site for me! LOL! A great stop-over site

Thankfully for us Clach Toll Campsite was fully booked which forced us on to unplanned Scourie. It was great, wonderful weather, great views across the bay with beautiful sunsets from the elevated site. The kids spent hours in the bird hide on the beach and we practically had the beach to ourselves every evening to walk the dog and fish from the rocks. Plenty to see within easy driving distance all information provided courtesy of the well stocked reception area. Site was well kept, toilet/shower block always clean with plenty of free hot water. We will return...

Wish I Could Have Stayed Longer
I went on tour with my wife and dog and this was the second site we headed to. We arrived as the sun was setting with a blood red sky shining above the rough and rocky cliffs and dazzling beach. What a view! The staff are ultra friendly and there are loads of good pitches. We were lucky enough to get one on the stepped hillside looking out over the bay - wonderful. The site is very well looked after with the grass being cut frequently and tendered well in terms of allowing it to regrow if someone has had a long stay. The toilets and showers are very clean and there are lots of them. Plenty of space to wash dishes and there are clothes washing facilities as well. The Anchorage is a decent pub serving food and staying open late without ever being an inconvenience to the site. The Spar is 100m down the road and is well stocked. There is a filling station which has 24 hour access to fuel and is very well stocked with fishing tackle which I raided on more than one occassion. There are some great walks around but with it being a bird conservation area dogs are generally not welcomed. Although no-one said anything to us there are plenty of signs saying dogs can't go here and dogs can't go there. Most people just ignore there though. You can hire a boat for £230 for 6 rods to go fishing or you can just do what I did and go off the rocks as there are loads of spots within easy walking distance. Don't try to fish on a still day as the midges will make it an entirely miserable experience on land. During my four days the weather went from blazing sunshine to gale force winds and monsterous downpour. Who said you can get all four seasons in a day??? How true. The sea is crystal clear and great for swimming in with people of all ages having a dip. A great site that is very tidily kept and has some truly inspiring views.

Level ground for pitching large tents with ease. Clean site, kept neat. Toilet block immaculate with no coin machines for showers. Plenty hot water available at any time. The owner was friendly and helpful. The bay was great for snorkelling (amateur), safe swimming and fishing (skilled). Well stocked Spar shop, and petrol station nearby. Good meals in the Anchorage Restaurant, especially the fish! We had great weather and only one midge. (Squashed!).

Super site, the best of 6 we visited. Superb views from every pitch. Really clean facilities. Great pub up the road, local CAMRA award winner. Many signs admittedly, but they were really friendly and welcoming to us. Try the Tarbet Shorehouse for fantastic seafood and combine it with a trip to Handa Island!

My husband and I visit Scourie every summer. Our holiday "up north" would not be complete without a visit to this delightful village. We always feel welcome and the facilities on the camp site are spotlessly clean with hot water on tap 24/7. Beautiful scenery, very friendly people, good quality restaurant and bar. I would recommend this site to all happy campers such as us.

Everything was wonderful except the weather. We stayed for 3 nights in early August 2006 The site is very well laid out and organized with a good toilet block. Our pitch had great sea views - pity the cloud never lifted.

Lovely site in beautiful location overlooking the bay. Modern facilities are very good. Slightly regimented but none the worse for that.

Excellent location with great views over the bay. The site is run with a little too much commandant style 'rules and regulations' for me. I've never seen so many signs and notices of what to do and not to do ! Toilets and washing areas nice and clean, showers hot, and the pub on site gives one the opportunity to escape the worst of the weather. One final comment about the camp commondant, If we are not allowed to drive on the grass, (other cars parked else where on the site) why not put one more sign up, rather than be rude to your paying guests.

Beautiful views of the bay. Friendly owner living on site. Excellent laundry facilities. We loved the sign on the dryer-"An optimist is somebody who thinks they can dry a load of washing for 20p"

Fabulous Site
Arrived in Scourie wet, but was cheered up by this fab site, pitches are large and terraced so every pitch seems to get a view of the sea, toilets and showers clean and up to date. Restraunt/Bar a bit empty, but we were there in May. Food good and staff friendly. Well worth the trip up from Ullapool.
