Ardelve Caravan and Camping Park
What a fantastic site! We found it by mistake, and we're glad we did. I've given 1 star for facilities for kids because there was nothing there for them. But it is a little site with plenty of character. On site facilities are toilets and showers (50 pence a time for the showers). Both were immaculately clean at all times. The only thing missing, in my opinion, were laundry facilities. Please visit this site. You will NOT be disappointed! I didn't want to leave!!

Ardelve Caravan and Camping Park
Let me start by saying that if you want to wake up in the morning, get out of your tent/caravan/motorhome, and see a glass smooth Loch with whispy clouds around the peaks of the mountains, with peace and quiet, then this is the place! It's location is right on the shore of Loch Duich, and it is perfect for that. Now, the site itself. The field is very well drained, and has flat hard standing for caravans. Nearby is the village of Dornie with two great pubs for a nice local pint of McEwens of Tennants, or maybe even a wee dram. It even has a small shop for emergency provisions. If you need more than that, then there is a Spar about 5 miles away, and about 8 miles is Kyle itself with a large Co-Op. What is nearby? well as you stand at the edge of the Loch, you can see Eileen Donan Castle, which in fact is only about 10 mins walk. A half an hour drive will get you to Plockton, and Loch Carron, which in July has a Highland Games. on its shores. Also, Glen Shiel as a short drive, as is Kyle and Skye. So, you could say it is a perfect base for exploration. Downside? Well the two toilet/shower blocks are basic to say the least (breeze block construction, but the shower unit and toilets themselves are modern and kept clean. But considering the location, you can forgive this. One thing to bear in mind, and is unusual these days for camp sites, is the showers require a 50p to run, so make sure that you have some with you when you arrive. To some up, great site, very basic facilities, but oh, that location!

The only down side for me was the absence of laundry facilities. My party consisted of 3 adults so we were'nt concerned about child facilities. On the whole, the site is excellent. Admittedly, the showers & toilets are slightly dated, but they are kept exceptionally clean. The site itself is small and situated in an excellent location. We really enjoyed ourselves and i didn't want to go home back to England! We will visit this site again, DEFINITELY.

Nice site, good views
As I'm the first to review this site, the essential details first! It's next to the loch, 10 min walk over the bridge to Dornie village and the castle, far enough away from the main road to be quiet at night. Lots of flat gravel hard standing (looks to have been expanded recently) with about 16 hookups, plus quite a large more slopey grass area for tents. You can park facing across the loch with a really nice view. Two toilet blocks (not very new!), three coin operated showers (50p), hookups are coin operated as well (£1). No other facilities like laundry that I could see. No idea where the "office" might be, you just park up and they come round for the money in the evening or morning. Very nice site on the whole, pub and two hotels in Dornie for food and drinks (real ale in all 3!!), plus a shop, so we were happy to have stayed here.
