Opened in 2008 Nydie is set in 10 acres, approximately 3 miles from St. Andrews and offers fantastic views of St. Andrews, the golf course and its bay. The site has a shower and toilet block with free hot water and attached to this is a camp kitchen with sink, table and chairs and a stand to put cookers on. This proves very useful in bad weather and for people in small tents without a communal area. Alongside these facilities the site has 6 electric hookups, chemical disposal and space for at least 20 family sized tents. The site is a short walk from Strathkinness where there is a shop, post office, childrens play parks and a public house serving food 7 days. The site is family and pet friendly and is an ideal base for exploring St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife. Children's play area added Aug2009. See weblink above for full information. Woodwams are now available, please contact for further information.

Nydie Caravan and Camping Site ACCOMODATION WOODWAM.
Just had two night stay in a woodwam, would recommend trying one for first time campers. sleeps four, with lighting, fridge and kettle, attached is a gazzebo with table and chairs, bbq, and fire pit, giving a good sized area to eat, cook and unwind, facilities and service on camp excellent and clean, would definately go again.
thank you

Nydie Caravan and Camping Site We have just returned from a lovely two night stay at this campsite. We have three young children aged 5,6 and 8, it was their first ever camping trip.
The welcome we received from the owners was warm and welcoming, and they were always there on-site, if there were any queries. The owners sold all sorts on-site including frshly picked strawberries and luxury, locally made, ice-cream, plus of course eggs, teabags etc.
The facilities were cleaned regularily. There is one smallish toilet block with separate ladies and gents toilets and showers. The ladies had two showers and two toilets, plus sinks. The mens had one shower and one toilet. The showers were always fantastically hot! The owners have also brought in a few portaloos and they are at the farside of the camp. This was due to the fact that the site was very busy!
However, there was never really any bother getting a shower or even getting to use a toilet at the block. It was rare to have to wait!
Good area for washing up, attached to toilet block - three fullsize sinks and drainers. Also chemical disposal, if you need it. The site was always well maintained and bins emptied frequently. A very tidy site!
The site has a lovely new play area for children plus football goals. Our children were extremely happy with it all. They played for hours each day and made loads of friends.
Electric hook ups for tents and carvans/motorhomes line the top of the field at the back. The rest of the site gently slopes downward. Good flat spaces too. We were allowed to choose where we wanted to go. As we did not require electric hook-up we ended up pitching our tent about a third of a way down. We had fantastic views of the estuary, plus could see the play area too, whilst enjoying a yummy glass of red wine!
Nice friendly tavern down the road in the village, plus a couple of play areas on the way there too. We walked it, but there is not a pavement until you get into the village of Strathkinness.
Despite it being busy, there was a big feeling of spaciousness. We had superb views over the estuary/ bay by St Andrews.
It is a peaceful, clean and friendly site.
We will be returning in the near future.
