Opened in 2008 Nydie is set in 10 acres, approximately 3 miles from St. Andrews and offers fantastic views of St. Andrews, the golf course and its bay. The site has a shower and toilet block with free hot water and attached to this is a camp kitchen with sink, table and chairs and a stand to put cookers on. This proves very useful in bad weather and for people in small tents without a communal area. Alongside these facilities the site has 6 electric hookups, chemical disposal and space for at least 20 family sized tents. The site is a short walk from Strathkinness where there is a shop, post office, childrens play parks and a public house serving food 7 days. The site is family and pet friendly and is an ideal base for exploring St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife. Children's play area added Aug2009. See weblink above for full information. Woodwams are now available, please contact for further information.

Nydie Caravan and Camping Site
26th July 2011. Just back from a three night stay at Nydie, what a find this is a gem of a site. We were welcomed by Sue who showed us to our pitch which was overlokking St Andrews bay. Plenty of room between tent pitches and grass cut short. Toilets and showers spotless and there was a seperate disabled shower and toilet. Shop stocked basic essentials but St Andrews and Cupar were only ten minutes away. We forgot our table but were able to hire one from the site. Sue and Sam were very helpful. Would recomend this site to anyone who wants to a peaceful and relaxing break.

Had a great weekend. Weather was good, although a bit windy at the top the hill. Views lovely and everything clean, neat and tidy! Owners very helpful when we got a bit stuck through equipment failure. Only thing that could poosibly be changed is that it could do with a few washing machines.......so that we can extend our stay. We will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks for our son's first camping experience

Just back from our second visit this year to this site and it most definitely wont be the last. Lovely spotless site just a five minute drive from St Andrews. Two boys loved the freedom of being able to go to the park and play football in the big field without Mum & Dad hot on their heels. Toilet facilities were immaculate and more than ample for all on a busy weekend. The staff on the site are always close at hand and go way beyond the call of duty to be helpful. Perfect site if you are looking for peace & quiet with lovely views over the sea. Can't wait to go back.

I am a seasoned tent camper and stayed at campsite for first time and also for first time as lone female camper. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and felt totally safe. The owners are helpful and although I did not need any help I am confident that they would do so in any way. The toilet facilities are spotless with a separate female block and there is a little shop selling essentials and also excellent ice cream! I will definitely be going back here as soon as I can.

Just back from a weekend at this site. Enjoyable - a basic site but a nice location and clean facilities. This is clearly a great site for families, particularly extended families and/or family groups with large tents, as it doesn't have set 'pitches' and there were two large family groups camping there while I was there, who were able to set up adjacent tents. However as a lone camper looking for peace and quiet, this wasn't great - particularly when the campsite owner apparently directed one group to camp practically on top of me (I was surprised they managed to squeeze their 4x4 in without running over my tent - that close...) There's 10 acres of space, guys... I moved my tent in the end. I often camp as part of a group of women and kids, and I'd come back to do that, but probably not on my own. Great site for kids though, plenty of room to run around!

Arrived back from a cold May weekend in Fife, but at least the campsite was friendly! Nice clean facilities and no fuss getting us in from friendly owners. There was a varied mix of tents, caravans and campervans with electric hook ups available. Great views of the rolling countryside but it might get a little windy some days I guess. We'll definitely be back when the weather gets better!

Just back from a weekend at Nydie we had a great time. We had cracking views and the sun was shinning what more can you ask for!! The toilets and showers were very clean anytime we used them. The kids play area and football pitch are ideal to keep them amused. We'll be back next year :)

Just back from a weekend at nydie, ahd wonderful time. The site has basic facilities but toilets and showers always very clean . This is an excellent site for children as there is plenty of slace for them to run around- the site is very spacious. the owners are lovely and extemely helpful- our tent broke down while we were trying to set it up as it was very windy. They gave us 2 tents free of charge which was extremely nice of them. They are alos very helpful with information about various attractions in the arae. You can easily spend a week her- lots to do! We had great time!

We have just returned from a lovely two night stay at this campsite. We have three young children aged 5,6 and 8, it was their first ever camping trip. The welcome we received from the owners was warm and welcoming, and they were always there on-site, if there were any queries. The owners sold all sorts on-site including frshly picked strawberries and luxury, locally made, ice-cream, plus of course eggs, teabags etc. The facilities were cleaned regularily. There is one smallish toilet block with separate ladies and gents toilets and showers. The ladies had two showers and two toilets, plus sinks. The mens had one shower and one toilet. The showers were always fantastically hot! The owners have also brought in a few portaloos and they are at the farside of the camp. This was due to the fact that the site was very busy! However, there was never really any bother getting a shower or even getting to use a toilet at the block. It was rare to have to wait! Good area for washing up, attached to toilet block - three fullsize sinks and drainers. Also chemical disposal, if you need it. The site was always well maintained and bins emptied frequently. A very tidy site! The site has a lovely new play area for children plus football goals. Our children were extremely happy with it all. They played for hours each day and made loads of friends. Electric hook ups for tents and carvans/motorhomes line the top of the field at the back. The rest of the site gently slopes downward. Good flat spaces too. We were allowed to choose where we wanted to go. As we did not require electric hook-up we ended up pitching our tent about a third of a way down. We had fantastic views of the estuary, plus could see the play area too, whilst enjoying a yummy glass of red wine! Nice friendly tavern down the road in the village, plus a couple of play areas on the way there too. We walked it, but there is not a pavement until you get into the village of Strathkinness. Despite it being busy, there was a big feeling of spaciousness. We had superb views over the estuary/ bay by St Andrews. It is a peaceful, clean and friendly site. We will be returning in the near future.

What a refreshing change, a campsite for campers! Great location with stunning views over St Andrews and the Eden esturay and beyond. The owners couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Toilet facilities are basic but spotlessly clean, and the owners informed us that these will be upgraded in the future. We will be back next year for a longer stay. All in all a great little site.

Thought this site was brill! Lovely open views over the sea and fields. Beautiful sun-sets and sun-rises! The owners were very helpful and friendly and worked very hard to get it right. The new play area is great for the kids, and ours were delighted with the football goals. The wee shop is very useful. The toilets were kept clean and loo-roll, soap, washing liquid replenished. The showers were a great temperature and really powerful! Better 2 power showers than 4 trickily showers!! However, the site is proving so popular that the owners are planning to expand the bathroom facilities. The women's are adequate at the moment with 2 toilets and 2 showers but, the men's have only one toilet and one shower. This site is in a fantastic position and there is so much to do in the area - St Andrews, East Neuk villages, Secret Bunker . . . There is a lovely chilled atmosphere and we can't wait to return!

Had a fabulous time at this camp site along with a large group of friends from CLAN Gathering. The camp site and facilities are clean and the owners are friendly and helpful. It was great having access to the little site shop for essentials including milk, etc for breakfast. My kids loved the wide open space and really enjoyed themselves with other kids who were there at the same time. The views are wonderful and we loved the sheep in the next door field! Thank you!

we took our three children to nydie campsite, the site was very peacefull and welcoming! the whole site can be viewed from wherever you pitch up, a real bonus for keeping an eye on the children playing. The owner was very helpful and friendly and has a selection of toys he makes available for children on site to play with. Showers and toilets are basic but very clean. we would reccomend anybody looking for a family friendly site to book this. Many interesting and fun attractions are only a short drive away. we will definatly return to the site and reccomend it to friends and colleagues.

We had a lovely time at Nydie caravan site. Set in a beautiful location, this well kept site has a lovely view also. There is loads of room for the kids to play, so very relaxing for mums and dads. There could be more showers/toilets as in the height of summer when it gets busy there probably would not be enough. The site owner is very friendly and welcoming and we will deffinately be going back.

We spent our first camping trip at Nydie in May this year and had a fantastic time. What may well have ended in disaster was sorted by the very helpful owner finding and giving us a spare jubilee clip for our camping stove and a screwdriver at 10pm on the night we arrived - excellent help! It was a perfect location for us and the children. Quiet and plenty of open space at the centre of the campsite for the kids to run around in. Our children loved it! It was such a relaxing space and just what we were looking for. We have recommended Nydie to a few friends and will definately be returning.

Just returned from a great weekend at Nydie. The site is very friendly and laid back and Sam, the owner, is on hand if you have any questions and will even bring stones for BBQs to your tent. The site is quite new and this is reflected in the facilities. The showers / toilet blocks are small and would become very busy if the site gets busy. There is a large central recreation area but no playpark for children. That said, Strathkinnes is less than a mile away with two large, well equiped play parks. Overall, this is a great value for money site in a great location.
