By the Way provides a variety of good quality budget accommodation for hillwalkers and climbers, and of course West Highland Way walkers. Until such time as the hostel accommodation is available, around Easter 2006, the site offers European style trekker huts and camping cabins and for those staying a bit longer log cabin and holiday home accommodation. By The Way is owned and run by keen walkers who have walked the West Highland Way (several times) and have also climbed most of the Munros in the area. The site has a laundry, a good drying room, an indoor campers kitchen, a bike shelter, a tent drying area and a good supply of blister ointments, plasters and bandages! If you would like further information have a look at the website as the campsite is currently subject to ongoing development. To find out exactly what is available at this time telephone 01838 400333. The campsite facilities are (Scottish) weather dependant closing in October and reopenning again for Easter. The other accommodation options on the site (ie hostel and mountain/trekker huts) are open all year round.

By the Way Hostel and Campsite,
Good camp site, and a perfect stop of point for going north, or just having a look around the local area. Oban not too far away, and site is served by two railway stations. Site is well drained, and the facilities are good. Showers/toilets/kitchen are spotless. Only downside, this is midge central, so make sure you have plenty of deet/avon/mossy net etc. worth staying at.

By the Way Hostel and Campsite,
Stayed here for one night whilst doing the WHW. Cracking little site right on the route and just off the main rod through Tyndrum. Good pitch, excellent showers and toilet block. Also excellent kitchen and eating area, the whole place was just spotless and was just what we needed after camping in the wild for a few days. Great price to at only £7 a night. Now planning to go back with the missus for a weekend I was that impresses. Would recommend folks.

By the Way Hostel and Campsite,
Good site for WHW walkers & cyclists. Food & drink not too far away. Don't forget the midge net - but they are sold on site anyway.
