This friendly, family run site lies in a quiet, picturesque location at the foot of Glen Duror. The park is well sheltered and is a real sun trap in the summer months. A track, which is part of the Sustrans cycle network, has recently been constructed and runs parallel to the park. It is an excellent, safe route for walking your dog, jogging and cycling and will eventually join up with the Ballahulish and Appin routes. We currently have 2 Camping Pods situated in a quiet corner of the site. These are essentially wooden tents and are designed for ‘Camping in the 21st century’. All you need to do is bring your sleeping bags, food, tea and coffee etc. Camp beds/Blow up mattresses, chairs, plates, cutlery, mugs, stove, cooking utensils and a table are all provided. There is light and a heater in the Pods and they are well insulated. And finally...... No wet tents to take down at the end of the trip! What more could you ask? Our site welcomes Motor homes, Caravans, Trailer tents, Tents and even American sized RV's. Dogs are also welcome. The shower block incorporates waterless urinals and shaver points in the Gents, hair dryer in the ladies and automatic lighting, self closing taps, central heating and insect mesh screens in the double glazed window units. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our facilities and they are checked numerous times throughout the day. The disabled toilet also includes baby changing facilities. The ‘campers’ kitchen includes sinks for food prep and dishes, a sink for hand washing clothes, washing machine and tumble dryer, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave and a small reading library where you can exchange your books and magazines. The Park is licensed for 40 touring pitches (big pitch sizes), of which 37 have electrical hook-ups, and provides an ideal base for local attractions such as the Nevis Range, Glen Coe, the Jacobite Steam Train (as seen in the Harry Potter films), the Cave of Sculls (which is the deepest cave in Scotland) and Cuil Bay. WiFi is available on request. For those of you who enjoy light exercise, there are many varied walks up and around the Glen, which are adjacent to the park. For the more adventurous, the area, which is known as the outdoor capital of the UK, has many outdoor pursuit activities which include Walking, Climbing, Sailing, Diving, Mountain Biking and Canoeing. We aim to provide the best in personal service and pride ourselves in the friendly atmosphere at the park. We look forward to meeting you and hope you enjoy your stay.

This site is a little gem. just the tonic from rushing around the town or city. Tranquil, peacefull and quiet. The views are simply stunning. Facilities are spotless and the pitches are bigger than average. even the midges are no worse than most places, so you need some repellent, but if you're in the highlands in the summer you sign up for a wee bit rain and some midges. The owners are so helpfull and maintain a high profile so any questions are answered almost as soon as you think of them. For anyone new to the area the welcome pack is very helpfull and informative.

Stayed here one night in June 2010 after we had wild-camped the night before near Loch Lomond, so the piping hot showers, clean toilets and campers kitchen were a delight! Owners/staff very friendly and helpful and all facilites were spotlessly clean. Nice flat site so easy to pitch the tent, dog-excerise area was a nice touch. Would have like to have explored the walks close by, but unfortunately the path was closed for repair when we were there. Midgies, yes there were some, especially as it's a nice sheltered location, but as others have said, it's the West of Scotland - what do you expect? Lovely site, would definitely visit again - maybe this year with our daughter who was but a bump the last time!

We have stayed on this site a few times and found it is one of the cleanest and friendliest sites we have been on. I have yet to stay on a site that DOESN'T have push button showers. They are not a problem. The little shop is 5 minute walk and has papers and rolls and a few other neccessities. You will have to go a long way to find nicer people than Dick & Anne who are only to willing to help.

Campsite was ok. Distance to nearest shop for newspaper and rolls, as you couldn't pre order on site, was around 10 miles. Push button showers a bit of a pest. That being said it wasn't a big issue, what was I hear you ask, MIDGiES. They were a nighmare even with repelant they were all over the place. On the while the site was very nice no complaints there.

While we welcome ALL opinions and comments, we would like to put a few things straight. The nearset shop for Rolls and Papers in the morning (except Sundays) is in the village, less than a mile away. On a Sunday you will have to go to Ballahuilish (6 miles). The push button showers will not please everyone, but they do help to save water and keep the pitch prices down. They are also free! The midges, well you are in the west Highlands and we are told by other customers not as bad as the rest of the sites in the area.

Stayed for three nights in early June 2010 and would fully agree with all comments posted this year. A good clean site with excellent facilitiesand helpful staff. However, the site was quiet when we visited so am not sure that there would be enough washroom facilities if site was really full.

This campsite is well maintained, clean and the owners are very helpful and friendly. Very good value for money as pitch fees are very reasonable with no restriction on pitch sizes. We will certainly be back.

Stayed here 3 nights. Very well laid-out site with flat pitches for tents. Facilities are spotelessly clean. Campers kitchen could be useful in bad weather. Very friendly owners and location ideal for Glencoe. £12 p.n. for single person camping.

We visited this site for the first time in April for 5 days. We were so impressed we returned in May for 7 days. Lovely location and the staff are very helpful, (Anne, the owner, even helped us erect our awning) The new toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and warm. The camper's kitchen has lots for tenters - microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle and a free library for park users. The park is set in the beautiful Glen Duror and well located for Oban, Fort William and Glencoe. Great for hill walking, fishing, climbing and sailing. The site is quiet and peaceful, great for a relaxing getaway. It's great to look out in the morning at the mountains. We will certainly recommend to all our friends and be here to celebrate New Year with all our friends. Can't wait.

If this review could have SIX STARS then six stars it would be for this site. Our (Vango Diablo 400 family tent) cost us ?10 per night, smaller tents are cheaper, our plot was huge, flat and drained quite well. Our two boys Brad 13 & Glenn 8, warmed to Jonh Beattie with his local knowlege of information and places to visit, John is amazing, this site is SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, he, without being finicky has his finger on the pulse, the facilities are cleaned properly twice per day, with regular random checks very frequently occuring. The grass is like a carpet! "Green Scottish Axminster!" The beach at Cruil Bay, 5 mins in the car, is stoney, great for a barbie, my boys enjoyed snorkelling here, it's deep from a gradiation but megga safe for the kids.. This is a beautiful quiet site and should only be you first choice in this are.. Thanx John

We have been coming here for five years and will be again in the summer. An excellent, well run, friendly small site. Ideal for families and couples looking for a quiet, relaxed stopover or longer stay. This site is a little gem.

A well kept secret
We have been coming here for 10 years (?) since it first opened by the local farmer, usually on our way up north hillwalking. We always thought it was our well kept secret - somewhere small, friendly, clean and with unlocked toilets. Just back from a night there (1/7/05) and find it is not such a secret anymore but just as welcoming as always.

Beautiful site at the foot of hills with forest walks. Very well maintained by owner John Beattie. Shower Block very clean and centrally heated. Washing up/Laundry room with washing machine, dryer, microwave, ironing board and iron. Approx 40 pitches. Not even a mile to pub (Stewart Hotel) and shop. About 1.5 miles to Cuil Bay with sandy beach. Ospreys and Sea Eagles seen in the bay. Situated between Oban and Fort William in the village of Duror. As already mentioned it was immaculate. Owner was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be going back. (May 05)
