Golden Sands Caravan Park
Although campsite technically closed my request for a caravan pitch was granted and I had a wonderful time (using my own shower etc). My first long awaited visit to the Outer Hebrides from Lincolnshire with my dogs and it was ideal. First time I have been plumbed in for waste water and supplied with TV cable so I could watch Freeview! Work still in progress but lots of potential.

the only reason we spent a night here was because it's one of the few place to camp on the island that has electric hook ups, there was apologies on arrival at the unfinished state(june 2008), might be nice when eventually developed, but wouldn't return in it present state.

Golden Sands Caravan Park
Situated on a beautiful beach and handy for Stornoway. All facilities are there, though there is only one toilet and shower, and we were glad it was not particularly busy. Lots of free hot water and a comfy bathroom. All plans as noted in the earlier review are work in slow progress and the downside is that it can feel a bit like an abandoned building site. However the owner is very helpful and welcoming. Lovers of tranquility should note that it is right next to a rather busy road, but the beach is top class.

Golden Sands Caravan Park
Visited July 2006. 5 statics and six fully serviced pitches for motor homes / caravans. Facilities (shower block, recepion, tea room) in process of development, should be open for 2007 season. Wonderful site on a huge sandy Beach, very freindly and helpful owners. Very cheap, electricity is metered, so only pay for what you use. Best site we have seen in years
