This is a small family run site located on Harris. It can be found at Drinishader on the east coast south of Tarbert. Grid Ref NG 117 941. The site has space for 6 tourers and 8 tents and offers great views out over the Minch. There are facilities which include hot showers, electric hookups and a chemical waste disposal point. Minch View Caravan Park
A nice little site, hardstandings for about 4 vans, grass is soggy at any time.Facilities need upgrading but the location is beautiful, access is a bit 'tight' too. Chemical disposal is primitive to say the least. Could be great !

Chemical Disposal is SEPA approved. This is a small site on a croft. There is no playpark for children but parents prefer to take the kids to the sandy beaches not far away,or to take them fishing on the loch or by the sea.

Stayed for two nights, chuft with site, immaculate shower and toilets. Tricky access for double axle caravan, but managed. Sat nav stops at village, keep going for about a mile perhaps, don't turn off.

Stayed for one night in July09 in motor home- owner more eccentric than helpful! We made mistake of driving close to the standpipe and got stuck in peat- however the local support network organised from the Harris tweed knitwear shop came to our rescue!! Site is in a great location but be careful not to drive anywhere but on the gravel (and even that moves like an impending earthquake!!) PS note to website- do'nt have kids so don't care what facilites there are so do'nt prompt me to comment!!!

Situated a few miles south of Tarbet on the Golden Road, before you get to the Harris Tweed Centre. We found out about it through the Tourist Info in Tarbet who mentioned it almost as an afterthought, after describing the wild camping at Luskentyre. It is tiny, with space for about 6 motor homes at most on hard standing with hook ups. There is also space for about 6 -8 tents in the tent area. No midges while we were there (in August!), but lots of potential as you are surrounded by peat bog. Run by a very helpful lady, there are a couple of spotlessly clean showers and toilets with lots of free hot water, and the charges (I forget how much) seemed very reasonable. No beaches, but it is right on the Harris Walkway which follows a path behind Loch Polcrapol so is excellent for dog walks. Highly recommended if you need a site with a shower on Harris, and it is handy for Tarbet and all the Harris attractions.
