The SCA has a campsite at the old station yard at Grandtully near Aberfeldy. The site is sheltered and secluded but is only a short walk from the slalom site at Grandtully rapids on the river Tay and there is easy access to the local hills and country paths. It is suitable for individual and group bookings from, canoeists, rafters, cyclists, hillwalkers, Scouts, touring caravanners, orienteers, outdoor pursuits, groups wanting to stop off on the way North, etc. Nearby you can find the Riverside Inn for drinks and bar meals, the Strathtay Stores are just across the river for newspapers, groceries, off-sales and Post Office (07:45-18:00 weekdays and 09:00-16:00 Sundays). Please see weblink above for details of a new system which is in place for using this campsite.

SCA Grandtully
Now has electric hookup. Best to avoid race weekends as very busy otherwise its an idilic spot. Recommend the Inn on the Tay for restuarant meals or the Tully for a real nice pizza and some bar games.

SCA Grandtully
February 2010 - The SCA campsite at Grandtully now has electric hook-ups for caravans, campervans and campers. Caravan pitches are segregated from the rest of the site and clearly marked.

SCA Grandtully - your private heaven
The SCA campsite is actually open all year round. You will find it full at Easter and August Bank holiday, and one or two other weekends when there are major canoeing competitions on at the rapids, but otherwise you may well have it all to yourself. Check the SCA web site www.canoescotland.org to make sure you are avoiding the weekends when events are on. Or come and use the campsite if you are a competitor or touring paddler.

The Tay valley's best kept secret hideaway campsite is at Grandtully. It's unattended and run on a trust basis so you need to phone up to book in advance to get access. During the week you are likely to be the only person on the site and when the sun comes up through the trees this is heaven. Don't tell your friends - I want to keep this place for myself! Great for paddlers, mountain bikers and hikers.
