This link in a frame Category: South Ayrshire Stay in the grounds of the fairytale castle at Culzean. The fantastic example of Robert Adams architecture stands dramatically on a cliff and our Club Site has amazing views across the sea to the Isle of Arran. Culzean Castle and Country Park hosts many events during the year, including childrens activities, Scottish country dancing and several music festivals. Managed by the National Trust for Scotland, the Park covers nearly 600 acres of Ayreshires finest woodland and coastal walks. The Castles Visitor Centre is a ten-minute walk from Site. Non members welcome on this site located next to the castle and the country park. Play area for children. Some pitches are sloping and chocks are required. Off the A719.

Culzean Castle This site has facilities to wash, dry and iron any washing you may want to do. Shower & toilet blocks always kept clean and tidy. Excellent position for visiting Burn's country and many sandy beaches within adjacent area. Swimming pool in Ayr if you find the sea too cold! Swimming pool in Girvan closed at the moment (2010) but regeneration of this site due to happen. In Girvan there is also a boating pond with small, and slow, motor boats and paddle boats that will amuse the children. On the island in the middle of the boating pond is a children's play area. Although Girvan itself has lost many shops there is an Asda Supermarket if you find you need to do a shop and an "old fashioned" ironmongers where you will find everything you could ever need! As mentioned in the previous review you are in Culzean Castle grounds and there is plenty there to keep adults and children occupied - good play area at Swan Lake. Ideal for visiting Culzean Castle This compact site doesn't have all that much in the way of facilities (the childrens play areas is pretty much an after-thought) however the staff were friendly and the location perfect for visiting the wonderful NTS Culzean Castle. As the site is inside the castle's grounds no more than a short walk is required before visiting all the attractions which, as well as the castle, include lovely gardens and an excellent beach.
