Northern Lights Campsite
We stayed here for several nights in our motorhome and was warmly welcomed by Chris. The scenery is splendid and there are many places to explore within a short distance. The facilities are kept clean and tidy and the grounds are well managed. We revisited the site a month after our first and stayed for a few days, and have also recommended it to family and friends. It's worth a visit to sample Chris's humour.

The location of this site is breathtaking and beautifully kept by the owners who live onsite. The shower block is in the restored Crofter's cottage, so much nicer than a prefab building and also kept spick and span. There are no facilities for children (which is fine) but also any games you might want to play with your children (ball, frisbee) are frowned upon by the management. This makes it an ideal location for adults travelling without children.

Stayed 4 nights at this site. Probably the fifth time I've camped here. A nice, quiet friendly site. Basic facilities, but very clean. There is no completely flat area in the small field for tents, so wherever you pitch, there is always a slight incline. Great views across Little Loch Broom.

A great little campsite for us and our baby. The previous night we'd been in a caravan and camping club site which was clean but noisy and busy. This came as a welcome contrast: quiet, small, perfect. Shower was lovely and hot. The owners were away and the site was being looked after by their son from Cumbria who was very friendly and helpful. Lovely views, lovely spot. Facilities are in an old blackhouse. The only tiny thing which would've been nice to have would be hot water at the dishwashing sinks. Absoulty great and only £10 for the night.

Enjoyed our short stay in June 2009. Good clean facilities and stunning views over Little Loch Broom. We used the site as a base for mountaineering on An Teallach. We also enjoyed chatting with the site owners whose blunt northern (english) humour kept us laughing.

i happened upon this site and will visit again. It is well maintained. The showers and toilet facilities are immaculate. It is handy for many of the popular walks and nearby beaches better than ones you find abroad. My hosts Michael and Ethel were friendly and passed on lots of info on the surrounding area. The views are breathtaking and as the site is small you can take full advantage of these views and rally feel as though you are getting away from it all. Next holiday already planned.

Lovely small site with the most fantastic views over the loch. Toilet & shower blocks are spotless and even had fresh flowers. Found evidence of otters down by the side of the loch but weren't lucky enough to see them. Be prepared to deal with the midges

We had a great time at this very friendly and welcoming site, small and all the better for it. All tents and camper vans so no caravans blocking the brilliant views over to the beautiful profile of Bein Ghobhlach and up Little Loch Broom. Very simple but pretty toilet & shower block and probably the best views any washing up area has in the country. Fantastic walks, climbs and beaches around. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the info
It is put on as closed to stop others travelling to it when its marked on the O.S. map as a campsite. People planning their trip will see this and will then be able to arrange alternatives.

The campsite which seems to be CLOSED
Excellent showers, excellent location, good food and drink at nearby hotel, very friendly locals, fantastic walking terrain... unfortunately we have never found the site open in the last three years and we are sick of taking a 45 mile detour to check it out. Why do you advertise it if you suspect it is not open?
