Have just returned from another enjoyable though very wet week at south links our only complaint is the very cold toilet block and lukewarm water in the showers. Will be back next year.

The tent area was nice and enclosed surrounded by trees and the ground was really easy to pitch on. It rained for a while but the grass had really good drainage and there were no puddles. Within walking distance was a really nice play area at the splash zone and had loads of play equipment for children of all ages and a unique paddling area. This was ideal for us as we have a 5 & 3 year old who loved it. We were also within walking distance of a nice restaurant called Roos Leap so if like us you like to dine out on holiday this was really good. The toilets on site were clean and not to far to walk, the only down side was that the showers wasn't great. We had a really good time and will definitely be back.

Just back from this site and can say a good time was had by all!. Warden took us down to the tent area which was a bit full so let us camp in the middle area where the vans are but much nearer the shower block (handy for me as disabled!) We came here last year and was looking forward to the facilities being upgraded (ie, showers, toilets etc) but was still the same. But still clean and cared for, just a bit dated and looking still like the local council ran it. One point though, the disabled toilet is very high off the ground and is difficult to use which is a bit strange and the key for getting into it is difficult to use. Also, you never know if someone is using it as the red part of the lock that tells you it's in use is always showing so you could be waiting there for ages! I did this and it turned out no-one was using it! All in all we will come back and look forward to the improvements.

Stayed for three nights for £56 in our touring caravan, July 2010. Site is quite large, ex-Council now private operator who has introduced static caravans. Toilets are substantial council built buildings which at the time of writing were to be getting a face lift, although the two gents showers in the block we used has low water pressure and one of the two toilet cubilcles has no toilet seat which seemed a simple and immediate thing to fix for customers. I understand 2011 should see improovements in this. Recent new mains power outlet upgrades with trip switches noted. Montrose is a sizable old town with lots of shops to browse and coffee to drink. The Council has a water front sand and water feature for kids to play around in and there are many easy walks up the coast. Mixed tents and caravans give it a good family feel. There is a factory next to the site but we heard nothing at all.

Just went here for one night in September 2009 and it was lovely and relaxing. It was pretty quiet by then but kids had a great time buzzing around on their bikes and playing in the playpark. It backs on to the sand dunes and has direct beach access (though you can't actually see the beach from the site because of the dunes). Beach is wonderful, a blue flag rating so very clean. Further round (about 200 yards) there is a great play area for the kids with a paddling pool and wee beach cafe. Facilities very clean and you get a key for the toilets. Only minus points - depending which way you pitch you could be looking at the big factory. Also there were a few boy racers heading to the beach later in the evening so it could potentially be a bit more noisy in the height of summer. A lovely find!

Went with my daughter, it was the best time camping ever. The site is made for both adults and kids with the beach and a great play park at hand. Staff were great and other campers were as happy as me. Will be back . . . many times I hope!

Perfect location for kids, right on beach and close to very cool play park. Still handy for town with all its shops and pool etc. Wardens very helpful, helped us with caravan since we are pretty new to towing and especially reversing. Facilities really clean, showers a bit weak but warm and clean and free! We were parked in a sheltered spot close to kids play equipment which was nice as weather bad, however this is right up against the fence adjoining a footpath to beach and a huge factory. Factory very quiet and you could hardly see it, bit of an electrical hum from generators. There were a couple of times that young kids on the path were a bit annoying and a people walking their dogs let the dogs come through fence onto pitch. No real problems though. All in all great family campsite and you can't fault the lovely beach location.

We visited this site on 12th May for 2 nights. The site was good and the kids enjoyed being so close to the beach and having a park to play in. The 2nd showering block was by far better than the older one which was very cold and dated inside. The dishwashing facilities were a bit dated too and were open to birds who used it as their toilet. Apart from these points we enjoyed our stay.
