Woodlands Caravan Park
As 1st time campers wasn't sure where to go to, so read reviews about Woodlands & decided to head there! Really friendly & helpful wardens on arrival & the campsite did not disappoint us. Everything was spotless! Toilets & showers were immaculate & campsite really well maintained by the wardens. Just a short walk to the local shops & great park at the beach for the kids to play at. We shall certainly be returning in the near future to Woodlands as I think the whole family has now caught the camping bug! 10/10. A Big Thanks.

Cannot add much or better any of the previous reviews. The facilities were spotless and the Wardens friendly and efficient. Beautifull setting and large pitches. The weather (rain) on several nights of our stay was horrendous however, in the morning there was very little water to be seen. We'll be back !

The campsite is one of the best that I have visited. The facilities are well looked after on a day-to-day basis. Toilets/showers are closed between 11-12 for cleaning each day, which sometimes can be an inconvenience. Later in the afternoon would be better. Carnoustie is a nice location, with few pubs and plenty of places to each (inc takeaway). The warden keeps the peace after 11pm to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay. There is a games room for kids with vending machines. A local park with swings and the likes is right outside the campsite also. Local shops are only a stroll away. The A92 is a good route up and down the coast. Try to visit Lunan bay, the beach is quiet and amazing! There are electricity points available for tents, so bring the appropriate extension!

FIRST TIME CAMPERS WITH 3 YOUNG CHILDREN, THIS SITE IS LOVELY AND WELL RUN. THE SHOWER/TOILET BLOCK IS SPOTLESS. THERE IS AN INDOOR ROOM WITH A POOL TABLE AND TV WHICH WAS GREAT FOR WHEN IT RAINED (WHICH IT DID!)THE PARK NEXT DOOR HAS LOTS TO KEEP KIDS AMUSED. 5 MINUTE WALK DOWN TO THE TOWN AND THE BEACH - I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO FIRST TIME CAMPERS AND WILL DEFINATELY RETURN

This was my families first time camping in a tent and I am so glad we picked this caravan site. It was a lovely site. The weather was terrible but we still enjoyed ourselves. The shower and toilet blocks were clean and well kept. Our two kids enjoyed the play park which was close to the tent. On the last day the weather improved and we went to the beach and found a lovely play park which was only around 10 minutes walk from the site. There were plenty of places to eat in or take away close by. We will visit again now that we know how to pitch a tent.

We do quite a bit of camping and overall this is an excellent site with good sized flat pitches, the site is quite a small with all the facilities very close to the camping area. The wardens were very friendly and had a great sense of humour. The site is very well maintained and the toilet block was spotless playing piped music 24hrs a day, nice if you have to visit in the middle of the night. My wife was impressed with the ladies as they even had freshly cut flowers in vases. The site is situated next to large grassland park and children’s play area which can be accessed through a secure gate, from the camping area you can see the kids play area which was quite nice. The town and shops are about a five minute walk and the pubs serve food all day and allow children in. We stayed for two nights with two kids (2 ½ yrs and 7 yrs), and my brother in law and his son (7 yrs). I would definitely recommend this site for a family visit.

Site's quite small now the school's been built on some of the land. Great showers, and toilet areas very clean as is rest of site. Staff very helpful and friendly, short walk down to beach but it's all uphill on the way back ! Small downside was the group of families who'd come together and were playing guitar after midnight, wardens like to keep tents and kids together which we realised later and would have asked to be sited amongst the caravans away from the rest. But we seem unlucky with party goers wherever we go, that's Friday nights for you, Saturday was much quieter. Arbroath's worth a visit too, West Links kids facilities don't open until 12 thouigh !

This was our first trip in our caravan and I am so pleased we picked here to stay. We met up with friends for the first few days and then were on our own. There was no trouble being put together in a group and considering we had a mixture of tents, caravans, kids and dogs I was not sure it would be possible. The wardens were great, helpful and friendly. The facilities were immaculate, they work hard to keep them like that. The park next door was great for kids and dogs and I liked that you needed a key to access site from park, nice and safe. Handy for town and beach and for main coast road to Dundee and Arbroath. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night and I would definately reccomend this for quite family camping.

This was the first time I had taken my 7 year old daughter camping. We chose the site because of the other reviews left here. The reviews are spot on, this place is outstanding. A quiet clean well run site with the best staff I have ever seen. Our stay was blighted by the monsoon conditions ( Hardly the camps fault!) but this was more than made up for by the friendlieness of all on site.

Excellent campsite one of the best I have sed in Scotland, lovely location and facilities are excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful staff here and very accomodating for children. Just great place for a weekend break and facilities in town were extremely good - great deli, bakers, cafe on high street, Abroath was also greta for a visit Marcus homemade ice cream and the Bell Rock restaurant was extremely good value and the best fish and chips I have had since Ullapool. Well done warden and his wife, keep up the hard work and standards.

We visited in the summer of 2006 and what a welcome! Wardens came originally from Fife - well what more could I say. A brilliant site, no nonsense stood for, even during the night. Cleanliness was 2nd to none. We will be back this summer without a doubt!

We went there mid August 06 We had a great time there, pleanty to keep our 9 year old amused, large tv room with table tennis,a swing park over the fence, the award winning beach 10 min walk away.this is also a dog friendly site.the toilets and showers were spotless.A word of advice ,check that this site is still there ,as it had been reduced in size ,there is apparently going to be a school built on part of its grounds . We will definately be going back there next summer.

Fresh Clean Friendly Site
Everytime we visit Woodlands, we have enjoyed the same high standards others try to match, but often fail. The warden stands no-nonsense from any would-be troublemakers, who are escorted offsite promptly. Toilets are so clean, one could eat of the floors. The greens, and flowerbeds are well looked after, and it shows. This is a low noise site, and suitable for those who enjoy peace and quite, in a family background. The town centre is only a few moments walk from the site. Folks are very friendly and helpful to visitors. Makes it rather hard to leave such a lovely place to stay. Highly Recommended!
