Camping on the shore of Loch Na Keal. Some basic facilities at farm.
Total pitches: 40
Pub Within 3 miles
Open from Mar to Oct
Our view: Hot water, sinks and toilets at farm. Very basic facilities however go for the views of the loch, Isle of Ulva and Ben More. River runs through the camping area. Nearest site to Ben More and attracts walkers and those more inclined to rough camp.

Killiechronan Camping
We spent a few days here two years ago and dedcided to spend some more time this year. There are basic facilities, clean and free, at the farm but it is the scenery and the wildlife that one comes for. To see white tailed eagles, golden eagles and numerous other sea birds, deer, as well as sheep this has to be one of the best spots. Although there are no white sands and rolling breakers this is a site well worth visiting. It is one the best valued sites around because what it offers you could not put a price on it.

An excellent place for birdwatchers and various wildlife. The peace and quiet is disturbed by the bird song of oystercatchers and geese feeding.Slendid views across the loch.In the late spring/summer evenings is a spectacular display of bats feeding on midges and moths.

This site had basic facilities, but the location was just fantastic. Plenty of space for the kids to run about, fly a kite, play ball. The camp fire at night under the fantastic star display is a experience we will never forget. This is the perfect site to get away from it all. Didin't experience a problem with midgies. Would have liked to stay longer. We will definately return. Just make sure that you have enough provisions for the duration of your stay.

This is the ideal location if you have a boat, free launch area 100 yards away, lovely coastal front. It is very basic with the washing facilites but me and me dog loved it. Ground doesn't seem to drain very well. Also good for spotting the Golden Eagles and Buzzards hunting on the nearby mountain, peaceful and quiet at night, can't be beat, just don't go looking for slot machines or bingo at night!

Fantastic site, just remember to take a porta loo (no chemicals ) and some drinking water and all is well. Very basic but beautifull site, views of loch and mountains are stunning. The sound of the oyster catchers and other birds are fantastic. True there are no child play areas but my children, age 6, 8 and 10 had a brilliant time exploring around the edge of the loch and watching out for sea eagles on the loch. Good idea to take steel pegs as ground a bit hard. Facilities at the farm are just fine.

Perfect place to Camp
I have been to many camp sites in my time, from big ones, to tiny little ones. this one, is my personal idea of heaven! There is a tidal estuary, perfect for seeing birds, seals, otters and sheep. The fishing would be amazing, if i could fish.... There is no night time light, unless you count the stuff the moon and stars shine down on you. Have a fire, lay back and watch the satellites fly overhead. The smoke from the fire also keeps the bugs away! Buy a solar shower, and everything you need is there. The other campers there are always nice and friendly, and make use of the seafood that you can collect yourself at low tide. My family and I will be going back on many an occasion. Truely worth it!

I go to this 'campsite' damn-near every year. The site is fantastic in so many regards; the view, quietness, wildlife, fishing etc but in this day and age too many folk look for so much more in their modern lifestyles; more mod-cons and less in the way of a simple beauty, spectacular scenery and a good-old back to basic campsite (yet with a more-than-adequate set of facilities)and all set in a spectacular environment

Campsite is as described: toilet block with dishwashing and bodywashing sinks, taps dispensing plenty of hot water and more than enough room to swing a large moggie. It's a short stroll from the campsite to the facilities, but then I've had longer walks on very big sites! Great for those who like a lovely location and some peace and quiet. I was rather surprised to be charged four pounds for the night though, especially as I was one person with a bicycle, I would consider this a little overpriced given the facilities.
