toilet and shower facilities were very good, everything was kept upto a good standard, excellent idea as well to have a laundrette and drying facilities. I felt it was a safe site, no litter was visable, there was plenty of refuge points. Kids liked the play park, and good idea with the covered area. Even the older kids enjoyed the central point for meeting others. Nice river walk, perhaps more sign posts. Enjoyable 1mile walk into Callander which was all pathed.

A well maintained and spacious site, well situated for those wishing to explore the Trossachs. We arrived mid-week in May and the site was half empty, but by Friday night it was almost full due to a school holiday weekend. Despite this we found the facilities block was well able to cope with the influx and though there were a few poorly behaved kids running around they were not a problem. Staff were very nice and were working hard to keep the site tidy and were welcoming when we arrived. The free fishing isn't all that great unless you enjoy catching salmon parr, but if you go the the extreme upstream limit of the 'beat' you'll find a concrete covered pipe extending into the river. Wade out on this and side-cast under the trees and you'll get into a half decent pool and maybe catch a decent sized 'brownie'. (I didn't!!) Easy 15 -20 minute stroll into Callander. Rated this as 3 stars for 'Location', only because we prefer our sites to be more rural. It is a very nice site!

This is an excellent site with plenty of space for kids to play and plenty of pitches away from the play area if you don't want to be anywhere near the little darlings! Even better, the play area has a roof, so the kids can play there when it's raining. The toilet blocks occasionally get messed up by kids running in & out, but notwithstanding that the toilet blocks are clean and well-maintained. Callander is walkable (just about), but there's also a petrol station nearby where you can get the absolute basics. The prices are, perhaps, a little on the dear side, but we've paid more for poorer sites, and we like the sliding scale charge for leaving after 12pm (by arrangement).

Large grass site, showers good and clean. Callander is quite a walk from site, but there is a Pub/Restaurant near at hand. Playpark for children yes, but annoying for silver tourers. Expensive they even have a sliding charge if you dont leave by 12 noon. Even though you did not arrive till 8:00pm Wont be back.

Terrific site
This is a spotless site. The grounds are well kept. The toilets and showers are immaculately clean. Partially covered play area for children. The site has its own stretch of water in which the fishing is free. (very good deal considering the cost of a permit for this water) There is a small very cosy and friendy public bar and restuarant within a couple of hundred yards from the site entrance. The general location is approx 15 min walk into the centre of Callender.
