A large caravan park with 9 acres of space at its heart, five-star facilities and a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere. Situated adjacent to the historic landscape of Blair Castle, and surrounded by the spectacular mountain scenery of Highland Perthshire, the park is regularly visited by the native red squirrels and enjoys easy access to over 60km of Atholl Estate’s network of waymarked trails and cycle tracks. The site covers 32 acre in total. Click on weblink above for Blair Castle Caravan Park website.

Our view: A great site with modern facilities. Local area is great for outdoor pursuits and there are many local places of interest to visit. Modern reception block with good shop. Heated toilet blocks. Friendly staff. Atholl Arms a short walk away does good bar me

Blair Castle Caravan Park
Stayed here with three boys on last weekend of September in glorious weather. The site is very spacious and in a great location with good walks and cycle rides straight from the site and good chippy, tea shop and pub nearby in the village. Most of the site is given over to caravans and camper vans. We used one of the more expensive (£27) family tent pitches close to the river. They are very spacious, with an electricity supply, but at this time of year they remain shaded until midday so on leaving we had to move the tent to melt the frost (tent and us) and dry it off. The reception centre is clean and modern but it (and games room) shuts at 8pm which is a bit early for the older kids. The toilet and shower blocks were very clean however even at a quiet time of year we had to move around the blocks to get a shower in the morning - there must be long queues in peak season. The staff were friendly - we didn't notice the officiousness that others have reported - and we would definitely go back.

Phoned up on the morning of our stay and managed to get a pitch for our camper. A large clean park with good facilities, clean shower blocks and toilets. Large grassy areas to enjoy a game of rounders or a kick about. Enjoyed a couple of beers at the Atholl Arms Hotel, which is a five minute walk from the site. Will definetly return at some point in the near future.

Stayed May 2009 during what seemed like the wettest weekend in history. Kids loved it, though, and the park, as always was excellent: well kept pitches, toilet blocks immaculate, great areas for kids to play etc. This is definitely the best campsite we have been to. Only (admittedly minor) gripe is that the reception staff could be a wee bit more helpful and friendly. It's not that they were UNfriendly or UNhelpful, but I felt they could have been a wee bit better. That said, we will definitely go back!

We spent the Easter weekend at Blair Atholl and had a fantastic time, the kids aged 3, 3 and 6 had a great time playing in the park, the whole site is very child friendly. We have now booked to go back for a week in the summer.

Lovely friendly staff and an ideal location helped make up for miserable weather. Facilities were always warm and clean but they do seem to have a habit of shutting off at least one of the toilet blocks (this has happened on both our visits here). Despite being a family site is also quiet enough for couples.

Stayed here weekend of 15th September, was amazed to see how busy the site was. Weather was awful but didn't spoil the weekend. Staff extremely friendly and helpful and facilities were great - lovely clean & warm toilet block on a cold wet weekend a god send. Would definitely stay again and definitely recommend

As virgin campers we were unsure as to what was expected. We had a good time the surrounding area is beautiful and plenty of walks for the children and the dog! Went to Blair Castle which was very nice and this would be a good stop for say Aviemore/Inverness car journeys.

Spent a night at Blair Castle recently in a small tent. Plus points were the camp facilities for kids (there's not much in Blair Atholl fo them after all!), the welcome by the staff and the general space and organisation afforded by the pitches. The pitches themselves were dry, well kept and even (a big plus in relation to some other campsites). The on-camp shop was well-stocked and the games room and internet facilities in the main camp welcome building are kitted out well). The downsides? My main beef would be about the lack of real thought on placement regarding tent pitches. The tent pitches are generally arranged between the extensive play area and the caravans, making noise and general foot traffic between the tents a bit of an issue. Let's have the tents (which have the least sound-proofing!) in a more sensible spot on the park, please!) Having said that, the noise did abate after around 11pm and I think the camp is well-policed in that respect). I have to also say that the general state of the toilets and showers was disappointing. There is plenty of space and privacy, but the showers are not well thought out and almost every one I encountered had no "dry spot" for you to put your feet down!! And the cleanliness needs a bit of work - they weren't atrocious, just "could do better", really. Would go back, albeit with a pair of sandals and some earplugs.

Stayed 8th/9th June 2007 with 3 kids, and had a fantastic time, despite a downpour on the first night. Facilities are excellent, staff friendly, toliet blocks plentiful and spotless, and location great for exploring the local area. Have been before, and will definitely go again.

Me and my two friends all 18 years of age enjoyed our weekend stay at the park. The management allowed us to camp there even though its was 3 males as we were only there to sleep and out hillwalking. Great weekend thank you!

We are regulars for good reason - the views, the walks, the river and the sheer size of the play area. If you like your space pay extra for a premium pitch, otherwise it can be like sitting in a massive car park. The shower issue is an ongoing gripe (see other reviews) but the staff are really friendly and helpful - have helped me out of a few sticky patches (lone caravan pitcher). If you have kids they will come home with a list of new chums. We love it.

Great campsite in a lovely location. Facilities for toilets/showers were fine to average for us and not in too great a demand - and well located to allow not too long a walk from any point in the well laid out area. Numbered pitches allowed good space. Pub easy distance, castle and grounds well worth a look. Gernerally recommended. Just wish people who want to talk until 2am would remember they are under canvas and every word travels - do it quietly!

We have been to this site many times and keep going back because it's clean, tidy and child friendly. There is a huge area in the centre of the site which is not camped on and is idea play area for kids of all ages. There are local walking any cycling routes suitable for all the family and a modern games room to amuse the kids when the weather is not so good. Our only gripe with the site happened in May. Following an explosion on site, my husband had to be taken by emergency ambulance to Perth A&E. Despite the ambulance being called by reception staff the management did not investigate the explosion or check on the condition of those injured.

We had a wonderful time at this site aided by the beautiful weather. Lots for the children to do with lovely walks around the castle and the river nearby to swim in. Receipt for site gives you cheaper entrance to the castle. Shop well stocked and reasonably priced. Liked the drying green available for drying your washing. More showers required in the smaller blocks around the site however we found that if we went to the showers at reception (5 available here) there was always one empty. There was also soap at the wash hand basins here but not in the other toilet block. All in all highly recommended. We will definitely be back

This was our first time camping and we had a fantastic time. The facilities at this campsite were modern, clean and the toilet and shower block were nice and warm. It was a pity the games room shut so early and that there was not an on site bar / cafe. Will definately return.

Huge site, but well disguised. You'd never know that so many people were around when you walk through the village. Although it has a massive number of pitches, you can count yourself lucky if you get in over a bank holiday weekend. Luckily for us the weather wasn't sunny, or else we probably wouldn't have got in after turning up on spec at 1.30pm. Even then, only a few tent pitches were available. The site has a posh reception area with very friendly staff and a small shop. The pitches themselves are grassy, flat, marked out and reasonably spacious. The only criticisms I would have is that there is no soap in the toilet blocks and that the number of showers isn't really adequate at peak times. Definitely one of the better sites. We didn't notice any noise during the night, except for the birds, which can only be a good thing.

Good and nice place.
The campsite is clean and the staff friendly. The Blair Castle and Gardens nearby, the ground and the forest its a highlight. Try to be here on the last weekend in May - so you will see the Atholl Highlanders and the Highland-Games. We come here to this place since 1990, every year!
