15 acre site located between Crianlarich and Killin on A85. The site is located on a dissused railway track and offers both hardstanding and grass pitches. Excellent small site in the shadow of Ben More. Also well stocked shop onsite. Great hillwalking area, other outdoor pursuits include local fishing. Short walk to local hostelries.
Total pitches: 105
Pub within 1 mile
Open from Mar to Oct

Friendly Staff, Good Location, Mainly Caravans
My wife, dog and I decided to do a bit of touring round Scotland and this was our first stop. The site managers are extremely friendly and operate a shop which is open at two time intervals during the day. If it rains heavily then it is tricky to walk directly to Ben More from the site so we opted to drive along to the base and had no problems getting up. Brilliant views all round. There is only a small strip on the site for tents as it is mainly for caravans of touring or static persuasion. Each pitch has a picnic table which was great for our outdoor BBQ. The pub down the road is very friendly and they allow dogs which means you don't have to sit outside with the blood sucking midges. Pray for wind because if it is still you will be eaten alive! The site is on the main road to Glencoe but after 8pm it is fairly quiet. There are loads of walks to be done direct from the site with a beautiful river and lake within distance. Fishing permits can be had with a small trip down the road. We needed some outdoor equipment and I'd reccomend Killin just down the road which is a beautiful little town that is also the home of the Dochart Falls - dazzling in flood. Toilets are clean, the water is (very) hot and the only thing that wasn't to my wifes taste was the water being supplied straight off the mountain which means boiling before consumption. A lovely site and worth a visit.

Glen Dochart Caravan Park Nr Crianlarich
Went to this campsite at the weekend with my wife and our dog. Have to agree with the other reviews on here- this is a fab wee camp site, although did bend a couple of pegs whilst pitching the tent due to fairly shallow soil. The location is very peaceful, being about 4 miles or so East of Crianlarich. The site is about 300 yds away from a fab wee hotel (Suie Lodge I think it is called) which has a welcoming log fire, really good food and the guy keeps the nicest pint of beer this side of the brewery. Hotel is "dog friendly" as well, which is a big bonus. The site itself is currently being expanded, but no building work ongoing whilst we were there. At the end of the site, there is a disused railway path which would go all the way to Killin , so great for nice level walking in some fantastic countryside- as I said on more than one occasion "It's nice here..."

Near Perfect.
As an adult male I found this site to be approaching Nirvana! I visited in July 2006 in one of the rare Scottish heatwaves and was more than pleased to find that I had trout or salmon fishing available across the road for a very reasonable fee and a choice of two pubs within half a mile. Bliss! The tent pitches are level but you need a hammer to seat the pegs, this is Highland country after all, but the toilet block is nearby and spotlessly clean. There were midges but I have found that Citrolella wipes eliminates this for me but it doesn't work for my wife nor for any other female who has tried it. Perhaps we should have a forum on this subject. Beautiful site, lovely people, camp here!

A Lovely Introduction to Camping
We have just had our first camping experience at this lovely site. Scenery is spectacular and site is beautifully kept. On site shop is very handy and you can order papers and fresh rolls for the morning. Toilet/shower block kept clean and plenty of hot water for your shower (20p). Not too much for kids to do on site but perfect from which to explore the surrounding area. One downside - midges - remember to pack your repellant!
