Badrallach Bothy and Campsite
We stayed in the bothy in March 2009. It was bitterly cold and had lots of snow on the way home. The bothy had a wood burning stove so was very cosy and had lots of games and information. Beautiful spot with views of An Teallach across the loch. We absolutely fell in love with this place and can't wait until our next visit. The only downside - we couldn't stay longer.

Camped here for 3 nights in May and wished we could have stayed longer! It is a lovely campsite in a stunning part of Scotland. The ground was level and soft, so pitching was very easy. On site facilities were good, plenty of hot water! You can build campfires in the pre-existing areas and there is a handy burn running through the campsite which chills beer or wine to the perfect temperature! Only 2 negatives that we had were, good mobile phone reception and the group that were in the bothy didn't seem to appreciate that the washing up area/kitchen was used by the whole campsite and not just them.

Just spent 2 nights here.Arrived on motorbike.Need to be wary as rocky road through site.Might need to take a little piece of wood for the side stand.Views are stunning.Recommend taking a walk to Scoraig to the lighthouse fine for adults but not really for young children.Delightful hot shower on return from walk.Very welcome.Superb array of information in bothy and good kitchen/washup facilities.Well worth a detour off the beaten track!

We managed to squeeze our 7 meter campervan down the road to this stunning site over looking Little Loch Broome. Not very level, you'll probably need blocks. Owner advises campervans to avoid bottom part of the site. Mountains, peace, fabulous walking along north side of the Loch on the track which is a continuation from the road. Owner will drag you out if you get stuck on the entrance road (a common problem for motorhomes). Nice walking area for dogs and rocky/pebbly beach accessible from site. Worth a detour for.

We had a night here a few months back when just out and about exploring our fave part of the scottish wilds: the west coast. The owners were amazing, we have three dogs and usually find ourselves at the other end of badly disguised distaste from campsite owners that want dogs neither seen or heard. However here we were told, let them run and play, just ensure they dont pester anyone! We had a little spot with a fire-pit and a night of absolute wonder, star studdied skies, giggling stream and absolute tranquility! I couldn't recomend this place enough to anyone that wants a true camping experience but witht he bonus of a shower after your hike into the hills where deer, birds of prey and more can be seen! As for children, well we are only just expecting our first, however we would return with our child, after all a child only behaves by a parents example - if you can enjoy the wonder of this place, so will the wee ones!

A little piece of heaven
We have stayed at Badrallach several times now as campers and in the wonderfull cottage. In all weathers from snow to bright sunshine. This is the perfect place to relax, reflect and enjoy some of the most beautifull scenery on earth. You could not hope to find better hosts than Mick and Ali.

A great location for 'getting away from it all'.Eagles overhead, otters and porpoise in the loch and rutting stags roaring on the hill and in mid-October,very few midges. Unfortunately the pitches with electric hook-ups are near the bothy. On our first night there was a stag party in the bothy. They were actually very considerate and caused very little inconvenience. For our second night, two families with seven children took over the bothy. The boys took over most of the site for a football pitch. This would not have been too bad if it were not for the foul language that accompanied their games while the adults sat outside drinking with music blasting out, loud enough for the whole glen to hear.(I believe that they were eventually asked to turn it down) So much for a quiet site!

The best campsite we have ever stayed at. Fantastic location; great facilities (Bothy; indoor kitchen facilities etc); very friendly & helpful owners. Ideal if you are looking to spend a few days away from it all. Will definetly come back again.

A fantastic site for getting away from it all, with good bathroom facilities. The views from this site are stunning, with the added benefit of a herd of deer who trooped through the camp fairly regularly. Our pitch was secluded and enabled us to have a nightly fire - essential for keeping the vicious midges away (sadly there was no deterring the clegs).

Just had 4 nights here and it is one of the most beautiful places we have been to. We did plan on staying 5 nights but unfortunately the midges got too much for us! We camped on the right hand side of the site, where the pitches are slightly more spaced out but you are able to have fires, something you can't do on the main strip on the left. This of course was a big bonus but we're not sure if being nearer to the stream or the tress made the midges worse...The site itself is great, and well worth the trek up the beaten track. Our only traffic probs were a herd of cows! The facilities are really good, clean and well looked after. One of the greatest things about our time here was seeing the herd of stags and deer (red I think), just wandering across the fields - a memory we won't forget in a hurry. Can't comment on the kids facilities as we don't have any (kids that is!). Lovely place, just a shame about the midges. Would love to return but will take full midge suit with me!

Just got back from this site. Had a wonderful time there. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The location was superb and extremely remote - perfect for a very quiet break. The only drawback was the constant attack of mosquitos and midges although this cannot be avoided. Suggest plenty of insect repellant! Also, advise that visitors take plenty of supplies as the nearest shop is about 14miles away from the site. Overall this is a well run, beautiful site in a stunning location. Well worth a visit!!!!

Had a night here in September 2005, it was wild and wooley from what i can remember. Didn't want to leave the following day though. If you're after ' off the beaten track' this is the place for you. The bothy is splendidly appointed and much used by Munro baggers. On the way in we were mobbed by a golden eagle!!! Say no more. Young kids may find it a little taxing but for us grown ups it's well worth the effort. I'll be back.
