This link in a frame Category: West Northern Highlands There is now an official site called Port A Bhaigh located on the owners’ croft next to the bar accomodating both tents and motorhomes. The campsite can accommodate 42 caravan/motorhomes on level hard stands with 26 of them having electrical hook ups and ample space for 50 tents. The toilet, shower and laundry block has a very open and airy feel and is available for the site occupants to use 24 hrs, as is the chemical toilet disposal unit. The site also has wifi and access to a payphone which again is available to use 24 hrs. The Am Fuaran Bar offers food and great hospitality to its customers. Port A Bhaigh Am Fuaran Bar Altandhu Just got back from a fantastic weeks holiday at Port A Bhaig. Went canoeing and snorkelling around some of the islands. The weather was brilliant but even if it hadn't been this is still a wonderful site. The views are truly wonderful, and if your an active sort of buddy there's loads to do. The toilets and showers are modern and clean and the facilities were everything we could need. The food at the Pub was absolutely delicious and the locals were friendly and welcoming. the pitches are quite well spaced out so the site didn't feel too busy and everyone seemed to respect each other privacy. Hoping top go back in August- i only hope they can arrange the same weather :). PS 5 starts for facilities for kids as long as they like the great outdoors :). Am Fuaran Bar Altandhu Absolutely beautiful. Facilities very clean and could stay in the shower for hours. The pub serves excellent food...try the squat lobster, soooooo juicy it squirted the person at the next table and the steak is amazing. Recommend it highly. Even the dogs are friendly. Bring your kayak, the water is crystal. Thank you, we had a great time. Am Fuaran Bar Altandhu Couldn't agree more with comments from Gareth Morris. We stayed here in June 2011 and were really impressed with the facilities and the work that has gone into creating this exellent site. Plenty of hard standings and hook ups, and also ample areas for tents. The owners are to be congratulated for their efforts. The bar and food are excellent serving great local produce. Really good site in an amazing area Excellent new site, I'm really pleased that there is a proper campsite in the area now. Run by the same people who run the bar, and they are really trying to do it properly. There's a brand new toilet block with gleaming showers, laundry room, and free wifi with a couple of tables for email addicts to sit at their laptops!! Lots of hard standing pitches, with hookups available, on what is basically a hillside which has had a lot of work done on it. Amazing views out to the Summer Isles of course. The bar is great (shame the real ale was off when we stayed, but they had some local brews in bottles), the food was great as well, and they put our fridge blocks in the freezer overnight. Next to the Smokehouse shop as well for all your fishy requirements (which you can also scoff in the bar). Am Fuaran Bar Altandhu Rough camped in the field opposite the pub July 2009 (hence the low star rating for Facilities). The owners of the pub are brilliant and very friendly. The pub itself is superb with amazing fresh fish dishes (the brother-in-law is one of the local fishermen!). Gorgeous area with amazing views. Official campsite opens in 2010.
