Lochside Caravan and Camping Site
What a fabulous, value for money site. Stunning location beside the loch with more than enough to keep kids occupied including vast grassy areas to play on. Toilet block was more than adequate with piping hot water and always clean. Open electric sockets - great for charging batteries, hairdrying etc. Will certainly be back.

What a find! We are just back from spending one night here (May 2008) and it was wonderful. A fantastic location right next to the loch. There are lots of hardstanding areas for caravans but I wouldn't have liked to be on that bit as it was a bit like a car park. There are plenty grassy places around and the tents are usually well over on the other site. We must have stayed on one of the sunniest and warmest (25C) weekends yet. We overlooked the playpark so the kids were happy. The toilets and showers were excellent (key provided) and though the other block was closed it wasn't too far to the open ones. The site has a very open feel about it and is easily accessible by the public but we actually liked this. It's a beautiful place with lots of lovely big trees and grassy open spaces. Watch out for the bats at night. Castle Douglas itself was lovely too with lots of lovely foody shops and it is just a stroll away. We shall definitely be back. It ticked ALL our boxes

Stayed here in july 2006, nice clean tidy site, very handy to town centre, good pubs and eating places, toilets clean tidy, except the toilets beside where we were camping were closed so had to walk a bit to the others, definately visit again
