Lochgilphead Caravan Park
Stayed on this relaxed, informal site for the Royal Wedding weekend in wonderful weather. The pitching area is large and grassy with plenty of room for all. It was dry and comfortable for us but we could see how it might become boggy and midgey after wet weather (see previous reviews). The facilities building is a bit tired and ramshackle but the showers (only 2 each for ladies and gents) are hot and clean. The location is great. Lochgilphead isn't a chocolate box town but it has a supermarket, good butcher, good chippy/cafe and nice sea views; and just a short drive/cycle away are the Crinan Canal, Taynish, Carsaig, the beaver reintroduction site, Dunadd and the great teashop/museum at Kilmartin House.

Practical friendly site
This site is in a location very close to the Town Centre. (A few hundred yards away.) The site has good toilet and cleaning facilities. Sea fishing within yards, Hill walking and cycling at nearby hills. The site manager was friendly This site suited me as the local hostelries were closeby. Give my regards to the Com. bar.

Handy site
Set in town, all amenities to hand, walk thru the gate turn left and you are at the end of the loch. A mixture of statics and tourers mostly hard standing, would say more of a caravan site than campsite, but have seen tents there. Laundry, scullery, toilets and showers clean.
