This link in a frame Category: Orkney Ayre's Rock Hostel is located on the Isle of Sanday and offers camping and touring pitches . These are located next to the hostel and craft shop. The site offers its own campers kitchen along with a television room and there is also a chip shop open on Saturdays. Almost Wild Camping....... The site has no electric hookup but you can plug into the mains in the gift shop if you have a normal plug adaptor. The shower is an extra ?2 a time but site is so cheap, ?5 a night when I stayed. No hard standing available and a SMALL field.... Now the GOOD stuff. You are likely to have the field to yourself as most people stay in the hostel on cycle tours. There is a very well used takeaway on site that does different menu's each night, ie american, fish and chips, Pitza etc etc. The nearest beach which is very small is jusy over the fence and its common to see seals in the water. The owners are very friendly and helpfull. In fact I am going back to spemd a week there this year.
