The pretty wool town of Moffat is home to this popular Club Site. It is a great place to stop off on your way up through Scotland or down south to England, but it is worth staying more than one night. Explore the beauty and attractions of the Scottish Lowlands.

Moffat Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Stayed here one night with the family (two adults, one child, one dog) and can't complain about anything. The scenery is splendid here, the staff were friendly and helpful, there is lots to do and to see. And it's also reasonably quiet at night. The showers were hot and appered to be well maintained.

3 Nights, 26th/27th/28th July 2007. Very good site, close to M 74 ideal for kids, farm next door, hands on animals and fishing ponds. Fabulous small town centre just 200yds away. Terrific park with boats/mini-golf/water-feature and it is just around the corner. Eating out with a good choice, s/market 100yds. Our 2nd visit and We'll Be Back!

I was on this site from the 18th to the 21st september. This was when we were hit with the tail-end of the canadian hurricane. We were under canvas using a Kos6 tent which withstood the winds and rain without a problem. I was dismantling the tent while there was still a strong wind and the site staff could not be more helpfull

Tried to stay on the site as a stop off on the way back from a cycle tour of the highlands, but jobsworth warden had no room for my miniscule 1man tent, but it was very obvious that there was plenty of room for it! Holidays are for enjoying, the warden should try and adjust his manner accordingly,it's a shame because the site and the immediate area is lovely!

I would agree with previous reviewer: staff were helpful enough, but keen on rules & regs (to the extent of getting out a tape-measure & supervising to check that tents were a regulation distance apart - possibly better than the pack 'em in policy that some other sites seem to have) However, Moffat is a lovely town with some fantastic hill-walks closeby, & the camp-site is located right in town where there are some good pubs, so, all-in-all, definitely worth a visit, I'd say.

Nice campsite, shame about the head warden
Great site - but head wardens is a jobs-worth - very keen on rules and regs. - but not so keen on helping the customer. If you can tolerate this, you'll be OK
