Rousay Hostel and Campsite (Isle of Rousay)
Camped outside for 2 nights and got to use the hostel for shelter, cooking, showers, loafing around waiting till storm died down for just £5 a night. Very laid back place but well equipped and clean wee kitchen. Hostel would sleep 10 I think. Small but sheltered camping area, midge heaven but for the gale so bring your citronella joss sticks. Eggs at farm, restarant at pier will sell basic foodstuffs, well stocked wee shop four miles away, hotel food 3 miles. Reasonable island for kids if the weather's fair but they'd get bored soon if not. Good base to explore this friendly islands brochs and birds.
Type of accommodation: Tent
