Family run and owned the site looks out the the Atlantic with 3 miles of golden sands and excellent surfing on your doorstep. A campers room is provided with free use of microwave, fridge and freezer and there is a small shop supplying basic food provisions and ceramics hand crafted on site. Wigwam camping cabins are also available for hire.

Pub Within 1 mile
Open from Apr to Oct
Our view: Good site and nice location but can feel exposed when the wind blows. Dog walking nearby.

A group of 6 of us stayed here for tow nights in 2 "BigWams" as we were on motorbikes and wanted to guarantee a dry night! The facilities on the site are excellent! The toilet block is modern, clean and the showers are excellent (and free). The Tent pitches are very flat and have some mounds of grass to help deflect some of the strong winds that are common here. I would thoroughly recommend the Wigwams, which war new, clean and well positioned with decking area and benches. They also had a large slab to put your BBQ on! Location is great also, with fantastic biking roads!

Stayed here for 2 nights in Aug 11 and had an excellent time! It was quite windy but owners were really helpful in telling us where to pitch our tent. The campsite is in a great location close to an excellent pub (5-10 min walk) and has excellent sunsets! There are two toilet blocks and the unisex shower has lots of space. There is also a campers room with all the facilities if it gets a little too windy... we didnt need to use it but it was great to have it there. We saw loads of birds of prey and seals not far past the beach. An excellent stay... wigwams were booked up otherwise we would have stayed in them they looked great! You must take the sea tour from campbeltown harbour.... it made our trip!

Brilliant! Spent 4 nights here and no complaints at all! Dave and wife very helpful and made for a really pleasant stay. Beach great for surfing/bodyboarding. Great for birdwatching and wildlife ... visit the observatory for more info from resident expert. Fun crazy golf. NO MIDGES! Can be a bit windy but the site is set out in such a way as to minimise the effects of this with grassed banks to protect campers and Dave was very informative with regard to pitching of the folding camper in relation to the prevailing breeze! Thanks! We'll be back!

Had a fantastic time here. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Found the Disabled/family room excellent. Would imagine the site would be a little exposed in bad weather and the drainage wasn't good in some areas. Kids enjoyed flying kites and playing crazy golf. Shop was excellent particularly as our van was off the road for a couple of days. Campers room was excellant with microwave, fridge/freezer and tv. Surrounding area great for wildlife. Seals basking on the rocks. Superb award winning beach. Excellant location for visiting Mull of Kintyre/Lighthouse. Worth the trip up to it. (Great view of Ireland)

Campsite & location superb. Attitude & philosophy of site is excellent - easy going & relaxed. Owners very helpful. Nice pub within 10mins walk. Lots to see & do and explore within 20 mins drive. Near ferries to Gigha;Arran;Jura & Islay - great for day trips. Lots of wildlife & sealife to be seen (seals 5 mins walk from beach). I spent an afternoon cycling up the nearby forest walk, saw (amongst other wonderful sights) Falcon hunting birds and a pair of Golden Eagles soaring overhead within 500m - There are otters nearby also. Have camped all over Scotland, this is one of the best locations ever and,...no midgie problem. Will definitely return. Is a bit of a drive but that in itself is an eyeopener.

We have just returned from 4 days here. We picked the site on the basis of the other reviews and agree with everyone else. The owners are very helpful and came to our rescue when our tent was in danger of collapsing due to a very stormy night. We would certainly be happy to return but with a more robust tent next time!

I spent the weekend at this site, very friendly owners, spotless site, toilets and showers always clean and tidy. The static caravan with fridge, freezer, kettle and microwave was a great idea, in bad weather campers could move in and have somewhere warm and dry to hang out. One small point there was plenty of room for kids to run around but maybe in the future a small swing park area would help to keep kids ocuppied. Pub with great locals, great beer and great food only 10 min along the road( 12 min to get back)! I'm going back ASAP!!!

This camps site has the most amazing views and the owners are so friendly and helpful. We've been here twice now and will definately be back! Shower blocks are spotlessly clean and there is plenty of space for kids to run about. We love our stays at this site and always leave wishing we had been able to stay longer!

Very well maintained and friendly site. Being first time campers we hadn't a clue how to erect a tent and Steve (the owner) couldn't be more helpful. Site very clean and had everything you might need. Seals can also be seen from the nearby beach. Just excellent and worth the Journey from Livingston

Gorgeous site with fabulous views over to Gigha, Islay and Ireland. Very homely main toilet and shower block, plus extra toilets and shower in portakabin - all very clean. Also a converted caravan for camper use in the event of bad weather. 700 yards to the nearesr pub, and you can cycle into Campbeltown on a pretty flat road, about 7 miles away. Also a shop on site for milk, butter, rolls etc. Staff very friendly. Beautiful sunset over the islands too, all visible from your pitch!
