Seek permission from The National Trust for Scotland to camp. Advice relating to caravans and campervans can also be saught from them. As there are no shops take all that you need with you. Contact Winnie MacKinnon the NTS rep on the above number for the best info.

Isle of Canna 2010
Directed to camp next to Coroghon Castle on west. Super situation with private beach - could be breezy. Water from nearby spring. Toilet and shower (50p) 1km away at farm along main track. Cafe open Tues to Sat. Good food. Does packed lunches and drinks as well as meals. No shop but food can be ordered from Mallaig Co-op for delivery by ferry.
Type of accommodation: Tent

Isle of Canna
Travelled to the Isle of Canna to camp in May 09. We met Winnie McKinnon in her distinctive red Landrover and asked where we could camp. "Anywhere," she said. In the end we stayed in Kate's Cottage, a basic bothy with the best view in the Islands. The best camping area appeared to be on the machair behind the small white sand beach on Sanday (island linked to Canna by a bridge). There is a water tap and showers at the farm. This is a lovely and peaceful place with sea eagles and corncrakes. There used to be a tearoom but that had closed down when we were there. You really do have to take all your food with you, except there are mussels galore.
