Open to non members. This is a level and peaceful site on the edge of Melrose, (easy for shopping) and overlooked by the three hills which gave rise to its Roman name of Trimontium. Melrose is famous for two things: its ruined Abbey and for being the place where Rugby Sevens was invented in 1883, so if you're a fan, telphone the site for the date when the Border teams meet for their annual Melrose Sevens Rugby Tournament. Other sports facilities adjacent to the site are tennis, playing fields and a playground and there's fishing in the Tweed. Melrose Festival is held in mid June each year. Now all hard standing pitches for tourers. TENT CAMPERS ADMITTED 21 MAY TILL 10 SEPT ONLY. (Not pre-bookable).
Total pitches: 60
Pub within 1 mile

Gibson Park Caravan Club Site Melrose
Stayed here in June 2006, piches are all hard standing, and level,so great for our camper van. Pitches are a bit small, but this is not suprising as the site is truely in the town of Melrose. Just across the road from the Sevens Rugby Ground. There is also a park with tennis next door. Showers are caravan Club Standard but dont go too late or the water might be not as hot as it could be. A good place to stop and explore Melrose, excellent dining, good small shops, bakery, butcher, green grocer, so everything fresh for lunch and fine dinning for dinner. The Abbey is well worth a visit too! We will be back on our way to Hull in May
